Edo Guber: No Chance Of Rigging This Election — Peter Obi
As the Edo State gubernatorial election approaches, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has pledged that voters will not allow election rigging to prevail.
Obi made this statement during the grand finale rally for Olumide Akpata, the LP candidate for the governorship, held in Benin on Wednesday.
The former governor of Anambra State declared that the era of rigged elections in Nigeria is over, asserting that anyone who attempts to manipulate the September 21 election would face consequences.
“Election rigging is coming to an end in this country. This time around, anyone who rigs election, we will rig him,” he stated.
Obi emphasized the daily hardships Nigerians face and criticized state governors who defer responsibilities to the federal government, detracting from their obligations to citizens. He assured the crowd that Akpata would not follow that path.
The LP leader also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to facilitate a free, fair, and credible election this Saturday.
He urged the people of Edo State to turn out in large numbers to vote for Akpata and his running mate, Yusuf Kadiri.
Supporting Obi’s call, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election, encouraged LP supporters to leverage their numbers to secure victory for their candidate.
