Napoli Player Reveals Difference Between Victor Osimhen, Lukaku
Napoli defender, Amir Rrahmani, has expressed his support for the club’s decision to replace Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen with Romelu Lukaku.
Recall that Osimhen’s decision to leave Napoli this summer prompted the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, following the direction of the new manager, Antonio Conte.
Osimhen is currently playing at Galatasaray in the Super Lig on loan where he has provided an assist, while Lukaku has scored a goal each in his first two games for Napoli.
Despite facing a setback with a loss to Verona, Napoli have since demonstrated a strong resurgence with three consecutive victories, including the commanding 4-0 win over Cagliari.
Rrahmani described the arrival of Lukaku in place of Osimhen as a perfect move for the former Italian Serie A champions.
He emphasized the significant contrasts in playing alongside Osimhen and the Belgian striker while reflecting on Napoli’s impressive 4-0 victory over Cagliari during the weekend.
Discussing the difference between Osimhen and Lukaku, Rrahmani stated in an interview with Sky Italia, “The contrast is very significant. In previous seasons, we had Osimhen, who tended to hold the ball less and focus more on making runs behind the defense. With Lukaku, however, we can maintain possession even under pressure. His physical strength enables us to win second balls and effectively conclude our attacking moves.”
