Sheynnis Palacios, a 23-year-old model and beauty queen from Nicaragua, won Miss Universe 2023 during the 72nd annual beauty pageant held in San Salvador on Saturday night.
According to a Sunday report from the Daily Mail, Sheynnis Palacios made history by outshining 83 other candidates and becoming the first delegate from Nicaragua to be crowned Miss Universe at the 72nd annual beauty pageant held in San Salvador.
Sheynnis Palacios has been involved in pageantry since age 16, participating in national pageants. During the coronation night, her consistent excellence propelled her through the rounds, delivering strong performances in the swimsuit and evening gown segments.
The Miss Universe organization highlights Sheynnis’ life goal as working in the service of humanity, particularly by managing a newsroom and creating content and commercials for international brands.
In addition to Sheynnis’ historic victory, the event marked several noteworthy firsts, including the presence of two mother candidates, two transgender women, and a plus-size individual.
R’Bonney Nola Gabriel, last year’s winner from the USA, had the honour of crowning the new beauty queen.
