The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Saturday revealed that his political ambition after leaving office is to support President Bola Tinubu to succeed in government.
Governor Bello made the disclosure in Abuja while answering questions from newsmen at the 3rd Annual GYB Seminar for Nigeria’s Political & Crime Correspondents/Editors.
Answering questions about his next move after leaving the Kogi governorship seat, Bello who contested and lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket said if President Tinubu succeeds, all Nigerians would have succeeded.
He added that he believes the November governorship election in Kogi State would be a landslide victory for the APC.
He said: “I thank God for my successes and achievements as governor of Kogi. I know where I met the state and I am happy for where I have taken the state to.
“I believe that the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, will build on the solid foundation we have laid down for Kogi.”
Speaking on the grievances of some members of the party in Kogi State ahead of the polls, Governor Bello said everyone can’t be satisfied but the party also has internal mechanisms to resolve such issues.
“Our unity is why APC wins in Kogi and will continue to win. Our party is one. You cannot satisfy everyone.
“However, there are internal mechanisms in the APC to resolve issues and we always utilized that,” he noted.
