Mob Attack Politicians, Loot Properties In Niger Republic (Videos)

A mob have attacked some politicians in Niger Republic following the coup in the West African country.

In a series of videos shared by a Counter Insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, a mob attacked a male politician in Niamey, the state capital.

In another video, a mob attacked a female politician but was eventually rescued by a man who was among the mob.

Some residents of Niamey have also begun looting of properties of fleeing government officials and also burned and destroyed cars and properties.

While others residents took to the street to support and celebrate the coup planned by soldiers in the country.

Before his ouster, President Mohamed Bazooka was planning to reject France and redesign the countries currency.

In an interview with the BBC, he said: “We are still using the CFA franc. We shall  do everything possible to change its name.

“We shall do everything possible to cut off all our ties that are remaining with France and be independent. 

“We are going to redesign our own currency and cut every single tie with France.

“We shall also build bilateral relationships with some ECOWAS countries that are not working with them CFA Franc Insha Allah.”
