As part of preparations for the 2023 census exercise, the National Population Commission (NPC) in Kwara State has slated April 17 to commence building numbering and household listing.

Naija News understands that the numbering and listing exercise is part of the census but is supposed to hold ahead of the census proper.

The State Director of NPC, Alhaji Sa’eed Yusuf, made the disclosure in Ilorin, on Wednesday.

According to him, the building numbering and household listing exercise would be for five days, after which there would be another training before the census proper.

The Kwara State NPC director explained that the training for enumerators was supposed to have been held on March 31, but could not happen due to a lack of logistics.

Yusuf, however, noted that the training has been rescheduled to commence on April 11 and would be for five days.

He also said, “There will be five days of training for enumerators and supervisors between April 25 and 30, in their respective Local Government Areas for the success of the exercise.”

The director revealed that the actual people enumeration and housing census would start on May 2 and end on May 7, while May 1, would be census eve.

The training of Data Quality Managers he said held on April 3 and 4, for those that would manage data, servers and Personal Digital Assistants.

While the Special Work Force training, for those that would assist the data managers began on April 5 and would end on April 7.
