Lawan Sends Message To Orji Kalu Over Wife’s Death

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has commiserated with his friend and colleague, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, over the death of his wife, Ifeoma Ada Kalu.

Naija News earlier reported that Kalu had announced the death of his wife at the age of 61, adding that the memorial service in her honour is scheduled to hold in the United States of America.

Reacting to the sad news in a statement on Monday by his media aide, Ola Awoniyi, the Senate President described the death of the wife of the Senate Chief Whip as traumatic and harrowing.

Lawan stated that he is shocked and saddened by the news of the death of Kalu’s wife, and extended his condolences to the government and people of Abia State over the loss.

He, however, prayed to Almighty God to comfort the Senator and his entire family,

He said, “I condole with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over the tragic and untimely death of his wife.

“The death of a darling wife is traumatic and harrowing but we must accept the will of the Almighty.

“We further take consolation in the fact that Mrs Kalu lived a virtuous life invested in the service of family, community and God.

“I extend my condolences to the government and people of Abia State and pray that God will grant them the fortitude to bear the great loss.”
