Atiku Rejects Presidential Tribunal Verdict, Reveals Next Move

A source from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is keeping stakeholders and leaders on edge by refusing to disclose his next role in the party.

An anonymous source who spoke to The Nation explained that Waziri is yet to show his hand in the ongoing efforts by some stakeholders to reposition the party.

Some of the current developments, like the removal of Iyorchia Ayu due to alleged anti-party activities, are viewed in some quarters to be against his interest.

However, the source revealed that the PDP flag bearer seems to be more interested in reviewing the outcome of the last presidential election.

The source noted that Atiku’s silence even though his interest is threatened has raised concern in some parts of the party.

The source said, “Atiku is not involved in the ongoing intrigues within the PDP. He appears to be concentrating on reviewing the last presidential election and taking much-needed crucial decisions concerning that.

“He has not shown his hand in any way as regards the developments within the party in recent times. Even when it appears his interest is threatened, he has unusually kept mum, raising concerns in some quarters.”
