Anthony Joshua Warns His Saturday Opponent, Franklin To Stop Talking
Nigerian-born British boxer, Anthony Joshua has warned his Saturday opponent, Jermaine Franklin to stop talking ahead of the bout.
According to Anthony Joshua, the more Franklin talks ahead of the bout, the more the American boxer digs his own grave.
The British boxer who said this during the pre-bout press conference on Wednesday stressed that this period is the worst period for any boxer to face him.
Joshua stated this in reaction to a comment credited to Franklin in which the American said now is the best time to fight the British boxer who has lost three bouts in his last five fights.
Even though Joshua seems not to be at his best in the heavyweight category, he is expected to defeat Franklin in the 12-round contest at the O2 Arena in London, a venue the Briton had recorded 7 wins and no defeats.
Such a stat was expected to scare Franklin but the American boxer has grown in confidence over Joshua’s poor performance in three of his last five bouts.
However, Joshua said, “It’s the worst time [to fight me].
“The more he talks the bigger grave he digs for himself. I could say a lot of things about him, but I respect my opponent.
“I’m prepared for a 12-rounder but I do believe in my ability and my counter-punching to put a dent in Jermaine.”
On what next for him if he defeats the American boxer, Joshua added, “I dream big, and I want bigger and better things in my life. I want to secure the bag and move on with my life.”
Note that the Anthony Joshua Vs Jermaine Franklin fight is expected to start at 9 PM (Nigerian time) on Saturday, April 1. However, it is advisable to stay around your streaming platform or TV set from 8 PM because the kick-off time will be determined by the duration of the undercard fights which will start from 5 PM (WAT).
