Police Speaks On Attempt To Arrest Portable, Gives Reason
The police in Ogun state have confirmed that its officers tried to apprehend Portable at his bar today, March 28.
Recall that Naija News reported that the police officers had stormed the singer’s bar in a bid to arrest him.
Portable claimed that internet fraudsters were the ones that brought the officers to the club to make the arrest.
In a viral video, the officers said they received a petition against Portable and were there to arrest him.
Speaking in a chat with LIB, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed that men of the command went to effect Portable’s arrest.
According to Abimbola, the command sent four invitations to Portable after a colleague of his sent a petition to the police claiming Portable stormed his studio, got some people to beat him up, and then locked his studio.
However, Portable refused to acknowledge the invitation, hence the officers secured an arrest warrant from a competent court of jurisdiction and went to arrest him.
However, he said that the Zazuu crooner decided to cause a scene so as to prevent the police from doing their job,
Oyeyemi revealed that Portable’s father intervened and promised to bring the singer on or before Friday, March 31. He said the police will wait for Friday and that if Portable’s father fails to bring him to the station, they will proceed to arrest the singer.
‘’He is not above the law’’ Oyeyemi said.
