Court Takes Fresh Action On Ayu's Suspension As PDP Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the homestate of the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu,  has on Monday stated that claims he was suspended from the party were untrue.

According to the stakeholders in the party, they were not aware of the suspension, adding that their signatures were forged.

In a statement addressed to the PDP Chairman in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State and made available to Naija News, the executive members of Igyorov Ward of Benue State disclosed that they did not approve Ayu’s suspension.

They subsequently called on PDP members and supporters to ignore the development, adding that their signatures were forged to promote mischief.

They noted that the suspension did not observe due process and consultation which is in line with the party’s constitution.

The statement reads, “The purported signatures on the letter are forged and no member of PDP Executive Committee of Igyorov Council Ward have signed that letter nor caused to be signed on his or her behalf. The names of the Executive Committee Members are wrongly written and spelled which show the desperation of the mischief makers. The content of the purported letter itself is contradictory on the holding of the presidential and National Assembly Elections on the March 25, 2023 while the letter itself is dated 24th March, 2023.

“The letter was written before the purported Commission of the offence which shows clearly that it is the hand work of the mischief makers.”
