Jonathan Was Persecuted Out Of Office - Says Buhari's Aide, Garba Shehu
Garba Shehu

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has admitted that former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was persecuted out of office in 2015.

Shehu noted this on Monday while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme, Naija News reports.

The presidential aide said Nigerians would miss his principal, Buhari, the same way they yearned for Jonathan who was criticized until he left office.

Naija News reports President Buhari’s second tenure will elapse this year and the incumbent leader is bound to leave office on May 29th.

According to Shehu, Nigerian leaders are not loved while in office but are missed when they are gone. Shehu lamented over the level of criticisms thrown at the president.

He reiterated that Jonathan has now become the favourite of many Nigerians after throwing shades at him while he was in office.

Speaking on the cashless policy which has affected many businesses and brought suffering on Nigerians, Shehu affirmed that the current cashless policy of the present administration is desirable and irreversible.

He said, “cashless is the way forward for Nigeria because cashless nations and in fact, all advanced nations of the world have gone cashless.”
