A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ray Nnaji, has asked the former Enugu State Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani, to blame himself for his senatorial election loss.

Recall that Nnamani had alleged that the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, contributed to his loss, and also accused the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, of playing a divisive politics.

In a statement on Wednesday, the former Commissioner in the state under the Nnamani administration asked his former principal to stop laying accusation fingers at Ugwuanyi, Obi, and the PDP.

He also advised the Enugu lawmaker to act with decorum, adding that his tantrum would expose him to more ridicule and portray him as someone without shame.

Nnaji stated that he would have been surprised if Nnamani had won the election, stressing that Nnamani failed the election even before the first vote was cast.

He stated: “You should understand the kind of person Nnamani is. His failure is making him feel bad. Unfortunately, he failed to realise that he failed even before the election. I thought he would have made reference to me because I was the one that started the process that led to his expulsion. He had failed before anything. He went into the election without any platform, because the party did not have a candidate for Enugu East senatorial election.

“He is supposed to thank Ugwuanyi for bringing him back after being in limbo for a long time. A second opportunity was given to him and he did not utilise it well. He should desist from these attacks, as they tend to destroy him more if there is any credibility left in him.
