Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has called on the Nigeria Police to make the arrest of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Ad Hoc staff which happened in Kaduna State public.

Naija News reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain made this known via his Twitter page, on Thursday, stating the INEC staff was arrested on Wednesday night.

According to him, the Police apprehended the staff after he illegally gained entrance and carted away some BVAS used in polling units in the just concluded election.

The former senator noted that the election materials are subject to contention and urged the police to make their findings public.

In his word: “Yesternight an Inec ad hoc staff was apprehended by the police after he illegally gained entrance and carted away some Bivas that were used in units that are subject of contention. I hope the @PoliceNG will make public the findings in Lere Lg, Kaduna state.”

Shehu Sani Reacts To Attack On Kano-based Singer

Meanwhile, Shehu Sani has condemned the attack on the residence of a Kano singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

Naija News reported that some unidentified thugs set the residence of the Kano singer on fire a few hours after the governorship candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba Kabir Yusuf, was declared winner of the Kano State election.

Rara, a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a close ally of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, was involved in the APC rallies during the governorship campaign.

An eyewitness, who happens to be a resident of the area, Yusuf Abdullahi, said the thugs invaded the house and started destroying valuables before setting the house on fire.

The police, however, were able to disperse the thugs, and the fire was eventually put out by firefighters after several attempts.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter account on Wednesday, Sani said even though his political views and that of the singer are the opposite, the arsonists’ attack on his residence is condemnable.
