Nigerian professional footballer, Victor Osimhen, is optimistic that he could contribute a lot of goals for the Super Eagles in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match against Guinea-Bissau on Friday, March 24.

Speaking during an interview ahead of the clash, the Nigerian striker, who currently plays for Serie A club Napoli, said the Super Eagles are ready with the determination to go all out for a win against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau tomorrow.

Naija News reports that the three-time African champions will be in a face-off for qualification in the AFCON at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja this Friday.

The Super Eagles head into the game as the overwhelming favourites going by the quality of the players in both teams and their pedigree. Jose Peseiro’s side defeated the Djurtus 3-0 the last time both teams met in a group game at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

Osimhen, however, in his interview, noted that the Nigeria team will respect their opponent’s capacity and would go all out to ensure winning to make Nigerians happy.

“We are looking forward to it, and I’m happy to be back on the squad. It is an amazing feeling, and I am really expecting an amazing results in the two-legged games against Guinea-Bissau.

“We don’t underrate our opponent. We want to give them the respect they also deserve as a team,” Osimhen told NFF TV on Wednesday.
