Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach, Jose Peseiro has stressed that he has a good team ahead of the Nigeria Vs Guinea Bissau clash on Friday.

At 5 PM on Friday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria would attempt to continue their winning streak in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers when they take on the Guineans at the MKO Abiola national stadium in Abuja.

Before now, the team has beaten Sierra Leone 2-1 in Abuja and has smashed Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in Agadir. They are currently leading Group A with 6 points in 2 games, two points above Guinea.

Hence, a win against the Djurtus on Friday evening would put the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a good position to qualify for the 2024 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Ahead of the game coach Jose Peseiro who has access to the services of Napoli’s talisman Victor Osimhen, Atalanta star Ademola Lookman, Leicester City duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, and Everton in form star Alex Iwobi, could not but boast of how good his team is.

The Portuguese tactician said, “What I can tell you is we have a good team; we have good players. You can improve a lot because you have enough time, which can be for improving our model, our offensive positions, defensive positions, and set pieces. We need to take care not to lose against big teams like Ecuador, Algeria, and Portugal.

“Of course, I want to win every time, I am not happy when I lose a match. But that match, I use to improve our team and to check against good teams. Our team must attack every time.

“I think if you want to reach the top in Africa, you need to try to control the game because if you want to reach the top, you cannot create one idea for the defender and the back and another for the attack.”

Note that after Friday’s game, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will fly to Guinea Bissau for the return leg which will kick off at 5 PM on Monday, March 27.
