It seems Folarin Balogun is on the verge of dumping England for his country of birth, the United States in his quest to play international football.

Naija News recalls that Folarin Balogun was born to Nigerian parents in New York City and emigrated to England when he was two years old.

While growing up in London, the 21-year-old attacker improved his football skills at Arsenal’s Hale End academy. He also started his professional football career at the Premier League club. He is currently on loan at French side Stade Reims from Arsenal.

Interestingly, Folarin Balogun has played for England from under-17 to under-21 but he is yet to get a call-up to the senior national team.

He was heart broken when the team’s head coach Gareth Southgate didn’t invite him to the team for the international break in March despite scoring 17 goals and providing 2 assists in 27 league games for Stade Reims.

This development angered him to the extent he took to social media to write that he is going where he is wanted.

To make his threat more realistic, he recently posted a picture of himself on Instagram and the location on the picture showed that he was in Orlando, close to the camp of the US Soccer Men National Team (USMNT).

If this is anything to go by, Folarin Balogun who is eligible to play for England, the USA, and Nigeria could end up switching his allegiance to the US since the country has shown interest in having him on the team.
