‘She Made Her Own Choice’ – 60-Year-Old Kano Alhaji Speaks On Marrying 11-Year-Old Girl

A 60-year-old man based in Kano State, identified as Aminu Danmaliki, has cleared the air surrounding his alleged marriage to an 11-year-old girl after his wedding pictures went viral online.

Naija News reported that while defending his actions in the viral video, the elderly man, said their marriage was born out of love and mutual consent.

The video and photos of the couple sparked outrage, with many asking why an old man should marry a girl that young.

However, the man has taken to Facebook to address the public outcry his marriage elicited, stating his wife is 21 years old and not 11 as widely speculated.

According to Aminu, it was the lady’s choice to marry him and they are both in love with each other.

He also accompanied the post with a new picture urging the public to allow them to enjoy their honeymoon.

He wrote: “My recent marriage with Sakin has generated a lot of tension and unfolded allegations that I married an underage girl.

“Some suggesting she is 11 years old and that she was forced to marry me. That is untrue. The wedding video went viral.

“We decided to keep mute but were advised to state the true facts, her it is: My beloved wife is 21 years old she made her own choice of me as her husband and I love her too.

“I hope the blackmailers and doubting Thomas’s will see the reality in this picture and leave us alone to enjoy our honeymoon.”
