The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is said to be acting like military in the June 12 election that produced MKO Abiola as the winner.

Naija News reports that the media aide to the president-elect, Bayo Onanuga, took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to make the assertion.

It would be recalled that Obi and LP filed their petition early on Tuesday, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Tinubu, Shettima Kashim (vice president-elect) and their party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) listed as respondents.

Obi demanded a fresh conduct of the 2023 presidential election.

This is as Obi requested that the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) cancel the February 25 polls and order the conduct of a new one.

However, Onanuga in his reaction to Obi’s move said the LP flag bearer is seeking the annulment of Tinubu’s election just like the military annulled MKO Abiola’s election in 1993.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the APC Campaign Council added that the Tinubu camp would meet Obi in court.

He said “Peter Obi of the Labour Party seeks the annulment of the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu just like the military annulled MKO Abiola’s election of 12 June 1993.

“Team Tinubu will certainly meet you (Obi) in court.”
