Nigerians have dug up an old tweet where former Enugu State governor, Chimaroke Nnamani, bragged about being undefeatable in politics.

Naija News earlier reported that the LP candidate polled 69,136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 48,701 votes.

However, in the old tweet which has since gone viral online, Chimaroke claims that anyone who thinks he can beat him in an election should think twice.

He wrote: “Do I have a problem winning an election? Let’s assume I lose. Will you cry for me? I go home singing alleluia? Governor! Senator? 23 year! Win, win. Be serious and think! Who will beat me in an election in Enugu? Concentrate on hawking Tokunbo medical equipment and leave politics alone.”

Meanwhile, the former governor has reacted to the outcome of the poll, as he congratulated the Senator-elect for Enugu East District, Kelvin Chukwu.

Nnamani, in a congratulatory message, said the outcome of the election reflected the wishes of the majority of constituents.

According to him, the people have spoken and urged his supporters to remain calm and accept the outcome of the election in good faith.

He also wished the Labour Party senator-elect, a successful tenure in the upper legislative chamber.

He said: “The result of the election is in tandem with the rave of the moment in the South East zone who have identified with the Labour Party. A contrary result would have negated the trend.

“I wish the Enugu East Senator-Elect a successful tenure in the upper legislative chamber.”
