Off-Cycle Elections: INEC Reveals Those Who Will Have Access To Result Collation Centres

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Zamfara has commenced the collation of governorship and the house of assembly election results.

The electoral body commenced the collation on Sunday evening for the governorship and state assembly elections held on Saturday across fourteen local government areas of the state.

Zamfara State has twenty state house of assembly seats across the fourteen local government areas in the state.

The local government areas include Gusau, Tsafe, Bungudu, Maru, Anka, Bukuyum, Bakura, and Talata Mafara.

Others are Maradun, Gumi, Kaura-Namoda, Birnin Magaji, Shinkafi and Zurmi.

The Returning Officer for the governorship election in the state and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, Prof. Kassimu Shehu while speaking at the collation center said the collation of results formed part of the electoral process.

The collation of results is being conducted in the presence of all political party agents, observers, and security agents.

At the time of filing this report, results from three local government areas of Anka, Bukuyum, and Zurmi have been submitted.
