Makinde: INEC Goes On Break Before Announcing Final Gov Election Result In Oyo State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer for the governorship election in Oyo State has declared a 20-minute break before the declaration of the final result.

However, Naija News reports the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seyi Makinde is expected to be declared the winner having already established an unassailable lead in the results so far declared.

Makinde is expected to defeat Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord Party to win the election conducted on Saturday, 18th March, 2023.

According to results so far announced at the collation center, Makinde of the PDP secured victory in 31 of the 33 LGAs in the state while the APC won two local government areas.

In total, Makinde secured 563,617 votes while Teslim had 251,230 and Adelabu polled 38,757.
