INEC Fixes Date, Time To Release Oyo Gov, Assembly Elections Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo State has promised to announce the final collation of results of the governorship House of Assembly elections on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

The state INEC Public Affairs Officer, Olayiwola Awolowo, made the known at the Commission headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital.

Awolowo, who did not give a reason for the postponement, also disclosed that the collation of the results will begin by 9 am.

Naija News reports that the election was peaceful with low turnout in some polling units while others witnessed an encouraging turnout of voters in the state.

However, voting started early at several polling units in the state on Saturday as residents came out en masse to vote for their preferred governorship and house of assembly candidates.

INEC officials also arrived at the PUs in the early hours of today.
