Popular Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli has called on voters in Victoria Garden City (VGC) who could not vote yesterday to come out and cast their votes.

The screen diva who has expressed happiness that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) kept to their words of conducting the VGC election said “we are here and INEC is here.”

Naija News reported on Saturday that the commission announced the postponement of the governorship and state assembly elections in 10 polling units in the VGC around the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The announcement was made by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Segun Agbaje while addressing reporters at the VGC.

Agbaje claimed that corps members deployed as ad hoc staff on Saturday were hesitant to enter the VGC estate as they alleged that they were held hostage in the presidential election held on the 25th of February, 2023.

He said, “We have eight polling units here with 6,024 registered voters and out of which 5,624 people have their PVCs,” he stated, adding that two other polling units at the estate’s main gate were also affected. “Eight here (in the estate) and two outside.

However, in her reaction to INEC ‘s promise, the actress, who took to her social media handles noted that “WE ARE HERE!!! @inecnigeria is here!!! One thing about me is I will fight for truth and justice! We can do the right things for real. #GodBlessNigeria #NigeriaDecides2023 Thank you to everyone who helped us reach out to the appropriate authorities yesterday.

Recall that Oboli on Saturday called out to INEC for an unannounced polling unit change and she called on Nigerians to tag INEC, as they have failed to show up in her usual polling unit at the Victoria Garden City (VGC)s but were instructed to go to the polling unit on the express of Lagos State.
