Why There Is Low Turnout In Kwara Guber Election - Saraki

A former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has said he was not surprised at the low turnout witnessed in the ongoing Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kwara State.

Speaking with reporters after casting his vote, Saraki said the low turnout was a result of the disappointment of the people in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The former Governor of Kwara State said the ongoing electoral process started early and things have been peaceful.

He said, “So far the process started early and things have been peaceful. But the voters’ turnout is low. Many reasons can be adduced to it. Personally, I think people have been disappointed in INEC in the last election.”
