The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has showered glowing words on the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Anambra State.

Naija News reports that this is coming barely a week after Soludo warned Anambra electorates against voting for any other candidate except All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

According to him, he would not work with candidates of other parties.

However, Peter Obi urged LP House of Assembly candidates to work with Soludo when they attain victory in the election.

The politicians met on Friday, March 17,  2023, at the inaugural Mass of the newly created Catholic Diocese in Agueri, Anambra where they shared a friendly hug.

Several dignitaries were present at the inauguration Mass, including the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, and Valentine Ozigbo.

Soludo, while giving a speech during Mass, announced Peter Obi’s presence with nice compliments and the congregation erupted in excitement.

Tinubu Sends Message To Security Agencies, NBC

In other news, the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on security agencies to caution Peter Obi, over what he described as inciting comments.

Tinubu, who was declared president-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 election, also urged the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to sanction broadcast stations in the country granting Obi, his major contender in the just concluded election, undue access.

In a statement, the president-elect issued in Abuja on Friday night through his campaign council’s Director, Media, and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said Obi’s comments could incite violence and are discrediting an election deemed to be free and fair.

Recall that Obi who came third in the election and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who came second are separately challenging the outcome of the February 25 election in court.

Hence, Tinubu believes that Obi’s “criminally false and inciting statements about the election”, were geared towards influencing the court to cancel it so that Obi and Atiku can ally in a fresh election.
