Kano House Of Reps Seat: Ganduje Loses In Court

The streets of Kano State were devoid of the usual hustling and bustling on Saturday morning as the residents head to the various polling units to vote for their next governor and house of assembly representatives.

In Kano, the race to succeed Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is expected to be a three-horse race.

Naija News reports that sixteen political parties will take part in the governorship election for Kano state however, the leading candidates are Yusuf Abba Kabir of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Gawuna Nasir Yusuf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Wali Mohammed Sadiq of the Peoples Democratic Congress (PDP).

Some may say the race is between the APC and the PDP but judging by the outcome of the February 25 presidential election, the NNPP might just produce a surprise in the March 18 governorship polls.

In the presidential election, NNPP won Kano State massively with 997, 279 votes while its closest challenger, APC got 517, 341 votes.
