Presidential Tribunal Verdict Is Against Reason, Evidence Presented - PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ebonyi State, has dismissed as disinformation, a claim by Tochukwu Okorie, a former member of the party, that the party has no governorship candidate for Saturday’s election.

Abia Onyike, Director of Media and Publicity, PDP Campaign Council, maintained that Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii remains its governorship candidate.

Onyike noted that Okorie was acting out of frustration, after being expelled from the party.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a purported piece of disinformation and useless propaganda emanating from one Mr. Toochukwu Okorie, a former Chairman of PDP in Ebonyi State who was suspended by the National Working Committee of the Party for anti-party activities,” Onyike said.

“Mr. Okorie, who has now defected to the the APC in Ebonyi State was spuriously quoted to have said that the PDP has no Governorship Candidate in the March 18 Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.

“We wish to seize this opportunity to implore members of our great party and the general public to ignore the calculated antics and shameless falsehood of Toochukwu Okorie, the expelled former official of our party who has decided to toe the path of dishonour, infamy and self-immolation.

“Okorie is certainly acting out of frustration and vendetta. His decision to become a willing tool and a useful idiot in the hands of the APC at this dying minute, preparatory to the Guber elections is one of his chosen acts of retrogression as a political jobber and renegade.

“All our candidates for tomorrow’s elections are sacrosanct and intact. Our Governorship Candidate remains Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and we are very certain that he and all our other candidates will emerge victorious in the elections. Forward ever, backward never.”
