Electorates residing in oil-rich Rivers State will troop out en masse today to decide who will govern the South-South State for the next four years.

Naija News reports that the battle for Rivers State is between two godfathers (Governor Nyesom Wike and former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi) who are plotting to place their loyalists at the helm of the affairs of the state.

Those vying in today’s election include Siminialayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party; the All Progressives Congress, Tonye Cole; Social Democratic Party, Magnus Abe; Africa Democratic Congress, Tonte Ibraye; Accord Party, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs; Labour Party, Beatrice Itubo and many others.
