2023 Election: One Killed As Bandits Storm Polling Unit In Katsina

Some assailants suspected to be bandits reportedly stormed a polling unit along the General Hospital road in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State on Saturday when residents were exercising their civic responsibilities.

The group were intercepted by a team of security operatives when they attempted to disrupt the governorship and state house of assembly elections today, March 18, 2023.

A resident who shared details of the event told Channels TV that one of the bandits was lynched and set ablaze by a mob.

It was, however, unclear what happened to the second criminal reportedly cornered by the security operatives when the other was lynched as reports claimed they were two that got caught up by the mob when they arrived at the polling unit.

The state police command, however, has not issued any official statement in respect to the incident as of reporting time, Naija News understands.
