BREAKING: Supreme Court Affirms Jimkuta As Taraba South APC Senatorial Candidate
David Jimkuta

A ruling by the Supreme Court on Friday (today) affirmed the nomination of David Jimkuta as the authentic candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Taraba South Senatorial District.

The court’s verdict dismissed the appeal filed by the senatorial aspirant, Danjuma Shiddi.

After winning the February 28th national assembly election, Jimkuta said his victory would forever remain indelible in his mind.

“I feel good defeating a sitting governor,” the politician stated while fielding questions from newsmen at the premises of the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Jalingo weeks ago.

Naija News recalls that Jimkuta defeated by a wide margin the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Darius Ishaku, who happened to be the state’s incumbent governor.

The results of the senatorial election announced by INEC showed Jimkuta clinching the position with total votes of 85, 415 to defeat Governor Ishaku of the PDP, who scored 45,708 votes.

Taking his victory as a good omen, Jimkuta is optimistic APC will win the governorship election in Taraba State.

Gov. Ishaku not only lost his senatorial ambition to the APC upstart but also lost his polling unit to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
