Former Director General of the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, Doyin Okupe, has cleared the air on his recent outing with Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Naija News reports that this comes after a video of Okupe, disembarking from a jet with Abiodun, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member, seeking reelection on Saturday, made the rounds online.

This video sparked outrage on social media with different assumptions and speculations that Okupe had dumped Peter Obi following his defeat at the poll.

Some supporters of LP also alleged that Okupe worked for President-elect, Bola Tinubu, while others claimed that he deceived the former governor of Anambra State into leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reacting via Twitter, Okupe debunked the claims, saying he does not play politics of enmity based on political differences.

According to him, Dapo Abiodun is his cousin and they are related by blood adding he has friends and family members across parties.

He said: “Gov. Dapo Abiodun is my cousin. A blood relation. He was in my house 2 days ago with his wife, but I was in Lagos. I called him on his arrival home this evening to thank him for the visit. He then invited me to receive some investors at the new airport in our hometown, Iperu. I was glad to go.
