Liverpool was unable to recover from their humiliation at Anfield in the first leg, as Real Madrid defeated them in the Champions League for the third consecutive season.

After losing the first leg 5-2, the Reds lined up with four forwards at the Bernabeu to add another great comeback to their illustrious UEFA Champions League history.

Yet, it didn’t seem likely. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema ruined the tie when he took advantage of Vinicius Jr.’s cutback in the 78th minute.

Jurgen Klopp’s team would have lost by a greater margin without Alisson. The Reds goalie made some incredible stops in the first half to save Vinicius and Eduardo Camavinga’s attempts.

After suffering their biggest-ever aggregate Champions League loss (6-2), Liverpool players sobbed as they exited the field while “You’ll Never Walk Alone” played over the Bernabeu speakers.

Osimhen Helps Napoli To Make History

Victor Osimhen leaps to give Napoli the lead on Wednesday night.

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Napoli easily overcame Eintracht Frankfurt to make their first-ever Champions League quarterfinal appearance.

Any remaining worries were allayed by the Nigerian striker’s powerful header in the last seconds of the first half at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, which gave Luciano Spalletti’s squad a two-goal advantage from the first leg.

Osimhen increased the Italians’ lead eight minutes after the break on a close-range goal off of a cross from Giovanni di Lorenzo, and after Piotr Zielinski was fouled in the box, the Polish midfielder scored the penalty to make it 3-0.

The Italian Serie A table toppers progressed to their first Champions League quarter-finals with a 5-0 aggregate win over the German side.

“We want to enjoy the moment and look ahead. It’s a great win, we re-wrote the history of this club,” Osimhen said after the win.

“We keep dreaming, we don’t have limits. We follow our coach and look ahead.”
