Burna Boy To Headline UEFA Champions League Final In June

Nigerian Afrobeat star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, will be one of the star musicians that will headline the UEFA Champions League final kick-off show in June.

European football governing body, UEFA, announced this via the UEFA Champions League official social media pages on Thursday.

In a post that UEFA used to make the announcement, Burna Boy could be seen addressing his followers about the new development.

In the caption, the social media handler of the prestigious football competition wrote, “Big news! @burnaboy will be performing at the Champions League final in Istanbul alongside another amazing headliner!”

This means that the 31-year-old Grammy-winning Nigerian Afrobeat singer would headliner the kick-off show at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul alongside a yet-to-be-named headliner.

Burna Boy who has been enjoying global attention since he released his Grammy award-winning album ‘African Giant’ in 2019, was given the opportunity of headlining the UEFA Champions League final courtesy of being the ambassador of Pepsi, one of the major sponsors of the competition.

While the date and venue of the Champions League final are known, football fans across the world are still eagerly waiting to see the teams that will make it to the final.

The competition is still in the quarter-finals stage. The teams remaining in the contest are, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Manchester City, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Porto.
