Presidential Transition Council Meets Police Ministry Ahead Of Buhari’s Handing Over

The Transition Technical Task Team (TTTT) of the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) on Tuesday met with the Ministry of Police Affairs ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s handing over.

Naija News reports that the police ministry has pledged its support to the team in the fulfilment of its assignment which includes the provision of transition security.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan told the PTC at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. that the ministry is committed to making their assignment easy.

Enitan pledged to the PTC led by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy and Development, Ibrahim Hassan that the ministry would submit its report to the council in good time.

He said the directive of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to the police included transition security and collation of information on all President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s policies, programmes and projects.

Enitan also explained that part of the ministry’s mandate is to protect Nigerians and provide a conducive environment for socio-economic development and sustainable livelihood for the citizenry.

Speaking on behalf of the PTC, Dr Ibrahim Hassan said Executive Order No. 14 of 2023 signed by the President on February 9, 2023, provides the legal framework for facilitating and managing presidential transitions at the federal level.

He said the two key documents for the 2023 Presidential Transition Process were a compendium of policies, programmes, and projects implemented in the nine priority areas of the outgoing government.
