The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has visited the founder of House on the Rock church, Paul Adefarasin following the death of his mother, Hilda Adefarasin.

Naija News reports that the nurse and women’s rights activist, Mrs Adefarasin (nee Petgrave) died on Sunday, January 5.

The former president of the National Council of Women Societies was aged 98.

Announcing the news, Adefarasin via his Instagram some couple of weeks ago, wrote: “As we reflect with gratitude over the illustrious life of service led by Mrs. Hilda Joanne Adefarasin as she parented her children, doted over her husband, and impacted generations and communities, we are reminded of her unwavering love for our LORD Jesus Christ.

“We covet your prayers and ask that you do allow us these initial days to grieve privately.

“Obsequies, venue for condolence visits & visiting hours will be announced soon,” the clergyman’s post on Instagram reads.

Sharing photos from the visit on his Twitter handle, the former Anambra governor commiserated with the Adefarasins, saying, “Today, I paid a condolence visit to Pastor @pauladefarasin, on the demise of his mother, Mrs Hilda Adefarasin. May God grant her eternal rest, and her family, the fortitude to bear the loss.”
