NNPC Not Consititutionally Empowered To Fix Petrol Price - Falana

A human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) on Monday claimed that the 2023 presidential election held on the 25th of February, 2023 was marred by result manipulations.

Falana stated this during an interview on Channels TV.

According to Falana, the electoral process was marred with other factors such as insecurity, late arrival of materials, violence and thuggery.

Recall that the Peoples Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) had challenged the declaration of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.

He called on INEC to go back to the drawing board and resolve the challenges faced in the last elections.

Falana speaking on the electoral process said, “The presidential and National Assembly elections were marred by insecurity in many places, late arrival of materials, violence and thuggery and manipulation of the results.

“INEC has admitted that there were logistic and technological challenges. Nobody is saying that the election was perfectly conducted. There are challenges.

“INEC should go back to the drawing table and fine-tune its strategy. They said they painstakingly made plans to conduct elections, but the implementation had some challenges. To me, this is an admission on the part of INEC.”
