53 Lagos Train Accident Victims Discharged From Hospitals (Photos)

A total of 53 survivors in the accident involving a moving train and a Lagos State Government bus have been discharged from different hospitals.

Naija News reports that the Lagos Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, made this known in a statement on Sunday, while giving an update on the sad incident.

The Commissioner said 53 out of the 102 persons involved in the accident have been discharged from different hospitals across the state.

Abayamo disclosed that 43 patients are still on admission, while two victims were confirmed dead at the site of the accident and four at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) during resuscitation.

He said: “The total number of passengers involved is 102. Breakdown of location after triage; LASUTH (71), General Hospital, Lagos (4);  General Hospital, Orile-Agege (10); General Hospital, Gbagada (6); Accident and Emergency Centre (5).

“Death (6), 2 at the site of the accident and 4 at LASUTH during resuscitation. 

“Total number of patients on admission as of Sunday 12th March 2022 (43); LASUTH (39), General Hospital Odan-Lagos (2), General Hospital, Gbagada (2).

“The total number of patients/passengers discharged as at Sunday, March 12, 2023, is 53.”

Tears As Remains Of Corp Member Who Died In Train Accident Buried In Lagos

The remains of a 28-year-old National Youth Corps (NYSC) member, Oreoluwa Aina, who was involved in the Lagos train accident have been laid to rest.

Aina was among the six victims who were confirmed dead in the train collision with a BRT bus at the PWD area of OshodI on Thursday, March 9.

The late corps member, who was serving with the Curriculum Services Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Education in Alausa was buried on Saturday at Atan cemetery.
