National Assembly members-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been told to focus on the forthcoming governorship and state assembly election for now.

Naija News gathered that they were also told to suspend the issue of zoning for the leadership of the 10th assembly for now and instead go back to work for the victory of the party in the March 18 polls.

It was learnt that the NASS members elect were admonished at a meeting chaired by Vice-President-elect, Kashim Shettima on Monday.

This online news platform also gathered that with them at the meeting were the Speaker of the House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Ali Ndume (APC Borno-South).

The leadership of the party lawmakers elects to tone the focus on the issue of zoning and leadership of the 10th Assembly down for now because there is another election before the party.

Gbajabiamila in his remark urged the incoming lawmakers to focus on the governorship election scheduled for March 18.

He said the meeting was to celebrate the party’s victory at the February 25 presidential election.

The Speaker added that “On zoning, we did talk about it; it is neither here nor there yet.

“We have another election this weekend and we want to make sure that everybody goes back home, roll up their sleeves.”
