'The Rain That Beat Okafor Will Still Beat Obinna' - Dino Melaye Warns Those Dumping PDP For APC

The spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council, Dino Melaye, has declared his principal, Atiku Abubakar, remains a unifier in all ramifications amidst his defeat in the just concluded election.

Naija News reports that the former lawmaker disclosed this in a post via his Twitter handle on Saturday, while speaking on the legal team of candidates of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the Labour Party (LP) Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi, respectively.

Melaye said Peter Obi and Tinubu’s legal teams have exposed their hearts as the duo selected their legal team from their ethnic groups.

He claimed Atiku reflected his stance as a unifier in the composition of his legal representatives in the presidential election petition tribunal.

According to Melaye, Atiku’s legal team cuts across the six geopolitical zones unlike Peter Obi and Tinubu.

He wrote: “Atiku Abubakar’s legal team is the only Presidential legal team that cuts across the six geopolitical zones. He is a unifier in all ramifications.

“Tinubu’s legal team is 80℅ Oduduwa and Obi’s is 100℅ Biafra. This is a reflection of the hearts of the candidates.”

Melaye Calls For Yakubu’s Resignation

Meanwhile, Melaye has called for the resignation of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmud Yakubu.

Dino made the call via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

Naija News recalls that Yakubu had threatened to file a lawsuit against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after they called on the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the INEC boss over alleged manipulation of election results.

The PDP stated that the call was made on the premise of the widely condemned infractions, a brazen violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and criminal manipulation and alteration of election results”.

However, Yakubu’s Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi urged the PDP to prove its claims in a court of law.

He wondered the reason the PDP had no evidence to back its claims, maintaining that the electoral commission does not rig elections.

However, Melaye insisted that Yakubu must go, alleging that he “superintended over a criminal enterprise yahoo yahoo INEC.”
