2023 Presidential Election Should Be Cancelled - Labour Party

The Labour Party (LP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of complicity in the allegations that a US-based Nigerian, Lloyd Ukwu, is trying to discredit the victory of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

According to the chief spokesman for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, APC is afraid of everything, even its own shadow.

The response from the Labour Party camp follows an initial alarm raised by the Director of Strategic Communications of the APC presidential campaign council, Dele Alake.

As earlier reported by Naija News, Alake described Ukwu as an imposter and an agent of the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi, who is hellbent on fooling unsuspecting Nigerians in the diaspora and the international community.

Ukwu was said to have claimed to be an Executive Director of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) and rejected the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.

In a statement on Thursday, Alake accused Ukwu of attempting to fraudulently exploit the NADECO platform for Obi against Tinubu who was massively voted for in the election.

Reacting, however, Tanko, debunked the allegation, adding that the said Lloyd Ukwu is unknown to Labour Party.

He also questioned Alake and the APC on how they got to know what the man is planning since he had not said anything publicly.

According to the Labour Party chieftain, the APC might be behind the entire plot.

We don’t even know the Lloyd Ukwu they are talking nor the alleged move to discredit their principal. The man in question has not even said anything, you are already pre-empting that he is going to say something. How did you know about it?

“The Tinubu’s camp is actually the one flying the kite. My principal doesn’t even know anything. The guilty are always abroad. The APC is always afraid of everything including its own shadow,” Tanko said.
