The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that three 40-foot containers fell in different locations in Lagos on Friday.

In a tweet via its verified Twitter page, LASTMA announced that the container fell from a trailer on the Ojuelegba bridge in Lagos at around 6:55 am on Friday.

The agency reported that because the accident blocked the whole main carriageway, traffic on the bridge was redirected. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

LASTMA tweeted, “#Ojuelegba #RoadIncident A 40ft container fell off a trailer on Ojuelegba bridge inward Stadium blocking the entire main carriageway now. Diversion is in progress thru the Ojuelegba service lanes.

The second accident happened at Ikeja Underbridge, close to the General Hospital.

The container dropped from a trailer at about 7 a.m., according to LASTMA, and had to be unloaded before an evacuation could begin.
