2023: What I Did In Anambra State That Ensured Victory For Peter Obi - Soludo Opens Up

Governor Charles Soludo has revealed that contrary to what some people believe, he ensured a level playing ground for the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi during the February 25 presidential election in Anambra State.

Governor Soludo who denied working against the victory of Peter Obi said he didn’t interfere in the elections like some other Governors did in their respective states.

According to him, the efforts of his administration in fighting insecurity in Anambra resulted in a peaceful atmosphere during the presidential election.

The Anambra Governor told those who think he was against Obi to remember he openly predicted that Obi would win Anambra, and he also refrained from doing anything to thwart the wishes of the Anambra people during the election.

Soludo made the submission on Thursday in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.

According to him, his administration has liberated eight local government councils under the control of criminals since assuming office last year and that is part of what ensured a peaceful and secure environment witnessed during and after the February 25 presidential and national assembly elections in Anambra which allowed the people to openly come out and participate in the election.

“Before now, not many people would have come out to vote, because of the security situation.

“Anambra people know that Governor Soludo is working very hard, and for them to sustain such work, they need to support the party of the governor.

“For those thinking that Soludo did not support Obi, they have to know that the governor did not interfere in the election, like some governors did, or even try to coerce anyone,” he said.

Soludo used the opportunity to call on the people of Anambra to support his government by voting for candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the March 18 House of Assembly election.
