Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kofo Bucknor-Akerele, has called on the Labour Party (LP) supporters, popularly known as ‘Obidients’, to free the state from the tyranny of over 20 years.

Naija News reports that Bucknor-Akerele made the plea on Wednesday at a press conference in Lagos where she endorsed the LP governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

She applauded the youths for coming out en masse to vote during the Presidential and National Assembly elections held last month.

The former deputy governor claimed she is aware that a wrong figure was recorded during the presidential election.

She said, however, it should not deter youths from coming out to cast their vote in order to bring freedom to the state.

She added that Lagos has had enough of rule by touts, urging the Obidients not to be intimidated by political thugs who might want to harm them.

She said: “Please come out in your millions. We registered over seven million votes in Lagos State. What happened?

“We know the figure that they wrote for us is not the correct figure but I beg you all, all of you who have voter cards, come out and free us from the tyranny that we have been undergoing for the last 20 years and more.”

Recall that Bucknor-Akerele was a Deputy to Bola Tinubu, former Lagos Governor from 1999 to 2003.
