Victor Osimhen Wins 2022 Best Foreign Athlete In Italy Award

Nigerian international and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has won yet another award after being named the Best Foreign Athlete in Italy for 2022.

Following an outstanding year in 2022, Victor Osimhen received an award from the Foreign Press in Italy.

From the start of last year, the Super Eagles star has been unstoppable in front of goal especially for his club side, Napoli.

In 32 games, including 14 in 27 league matches, Osimhen scored 18 goals and dished out five assists in the 2021–2022 campaign.

In the second half of the season, Osimhen scored seven of his 14 league goals.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international has carried on, in the same manner, this season, netting two goals in four Champions League games and 19 league goals in 21 games.

Osimhen scored 10 goals in the first half of the 2022–23 season, nine of which came in Italy’s top division despite missing a month of play due to fitness issues.

He has now been recognized for his exceptional performances by the Italian foreign press, which has named him the best foreign athlete in the country for 2022.

Osimhen announced the achievement via his verified Instagram page by sharing a picture of himself on Monday, March 6, which he captioned: “Amazing Feeling To Be Awarded The 2022 Best Foreign Athlete In Italy, Thank Y’all For Your Support, GOD Is The Greatest”.
