Former Nigerian lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has taken to social media to lampoon Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, over his actions before and during the just concluded presidential election.

Recall that PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was defeated by his counterpart from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, in the February 25th election.

Atiku came second behind the former Governor of Lagos State with Peter Obi of the Labour Party coming third in the poll.

Naija News recalls that among other states where he suffered defeat, Atiku also lost woefully in Wike’s Rivers State.

Wike and his G5 (five aggrieved PDP governors) team had vowed to boycott Atiku in the presidential race for refusing to yield to their demands before the election.

Wike has repeatedly and openly criticized Atiku and the PDP leadership for not allowing the opposition party to field a southern candidate. Speculations are that the Rivers Governor was instrumental to the victory of the candidate of the ruling APC, Tinubu.

Governor Wike raised more suspicion after he mocked Atiku, saying he owes nobody an apology after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tinubu as president-elect.

Taking to his microblogging page on Tuesday to react to Wike’s recent bragging, Melaye said the G5 governors were not relevant in the just concluded elections.

Melaye who was the spokesperson for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council for the February 25th election, warned Wike, asking the Rivers state governor to bury his head in shame, citing how some members of the G-5 failed in the election.

The Kogi State politician insisted that the G5 has no relevance in the just concluded presidential election.

“The G5 who could not deliver themselves for their senate bid cannot be the ones claiming glory in purported Atiku loss. Even Wike outside thuggery and coercion of INEC officials had nothing to contribute to APC votes in Rivers,” Melaye wrote on Twitter.
