Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan

Former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has written to congratulate his predecessor, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on the event of his 86th birthday anniversary.

Naija News understands that Obasanjo turned 86th on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Congratulations have been pouring in for the former political and military leader.

Joining a host of others in felicitating with Obasanjo, Jonathan in a goodwill message personally signed by him and obtained by newsmen, wished the former president long life in good health and peace of mind as he continues to work for a united and prosperous Nigeria.

Jonathan described Chief Obasanjo as a sincere patriot who has remained relentless, even in old age, in his commitment to building bridges of harmony, equity and progress in Africa.

His goodwill message read: “On behalf of my family, I felicitate you as you celebrate your 86th birthday.

“Your Excellency, you have lived a life of exemplary loyalty, service and patriotism to Nigeria and Africa, building bridges of harmony and making peace.

“I am delighted that even in old age, you have been relentless in your passion for a peaceful and just Nigeria and a prosperous Africa.

“As you celebrate, I wish you more strength, sound health and peace. On behalf of my family, I wish you a happy birthday. Congratulations, Your Excellency.”

Concede Defeat Now, Emulate Ex-President Jonathan, Tinubu Tells Atiku, Obi

Meanwhile, the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has called on both the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, to emulate former President, Goodluck Jonathan and concede defeat.

Naija News reports that Tinubu made the call on Tuesday through his Special Adviser on Media, Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, Dele Alake in Abuja.

While cautioning both parties for calling for a cancellation of the exercise, he likened the election to pregnancy, which cannot be aborted when it has reached full term and could amount to an abortion when done.

He also said it’s treasonable to abort the collation process.

Alake said, “You must also be aware of the gang up by the PDP and Labour Party, whose agents walked out of the National Collation Centre in Abuja on Monday.

“Today, they continued their conspiracy to truncate our 24-year democratic journey by raising unfounded allegations against INEC, casting aspersions on the whole electoral process, forgetting the process had handed them unexpected victories in some states.

“We have always suspected that the Labour Party and PDP are the same, only divided by individual inordinate ambition,” the APC said.
