Former Governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson has been declared winner of the Bayesla West Senatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Returning officer for the election, Samuel Enahoro, said Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 27,231 votes to defeat Ayakpo Danyegha, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development means that Dickson, who was governor between 2012 and 2020, will be representing his district for the second time.

Naija News reports that the PDP also won the Bayelsa Central and Bayelsa East Senatorial District elections.

Benson Agadaga and Benson Kombowei were declared winners of the Bayelsa east and Bayelsa central senatorial districts respectively by INEC.

Review Election Results In Lagos, Rivers, Eight Others – Utomi Tells INEC

A chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Profesor Pat Utomi, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to review the presidential election results in ten states.

The Professor of Political Economy, while speaking at a news conference on Friday in Lagos, said the presidential and National Assembly elections were flawed in the ten states.

According to Utomi, the electoral body should review the elections conducted in Lagos, Rivers, Imo, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Katsina, Adamawa, and Akwa Ibom.

Utomi also asked INEC to cancel the elections if a review failed and if the courts did not pronounce the “true winner” after investigations.
