The PUNCH: The Supreme Court, on Friday, descended heavily on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for disobeying its earlier order that the old ₦1,000, N500 and N200 notes should be allowed to circulate with the newly redesigned notes until the final determination of the suit filed by some state governments on the matter.

The Guardian: Following the judgment of the Supreme Court yesterday ordering that the old naira notes must remain in circulation till December 31, 2023, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Abubakar Malami, to resign their positions over their ignoble role in the matter.

Vanguard: Obio/Akpor Local Government Area (LGA) Ward 13, Unit 49 in Rumuadaolu, Rivers State is less than five minutes drive from the INEC Office. By 1.30pm on election day, with ban on vehicular movement except for election duties, materials had not arrived to commence accreditation and voting. In Ward 11 Unit 18 of Ahoada West, by 3pm, which was past the voting time allowed by the guidelines, materials had not arrived. Same was experienced in several places to the frustrations of teeming voters who came out as early as 7am, determined to ensure nothing stopped them from casting their votes. In the end many were disenfranchised as voting was aborted with many still on the queues into nightfall.

This Day: The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday claimed that complaints about the botched electronic transmission of the results by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the February 25 Presidential election was not supported by law.

The Nation: A wave of relief swept across the country yesterday after the Supreme Court extended the validity of the old N200, N500 and N1000 notes to December 31, 2023.

Daily Trust: Reactions have continued to trail the judgement of the Supreme Court, which ordered the circulation of the old naira notes alongside the new ones until December 31.
