The Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-political organization has urged the President-elect, Bola Tinubu to refrain from victimizing Igbos who refused to vote for him during the just concluded presidential election.

Speaking via a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the apex Igbo group pleaded with Tinubu to consider Igbos while distributing amenities.

Ohanaeze urged Tinubu to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the country.

According to Isiguzoro: “Ndigbo urges the President-Elect not to victimize any section of the country who voted against him but as the new Political leader of the Country, he should ensure that Nigerians, especially Ndigbo are accommodated in the distribution of public amenities and provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the country.”

Ohanaeze further retracted its earlier stance on the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The body stressed that Igbos in the state should vote their conscience in the March 11th governorship elections.

Ohanaeze asked the governor to provide adequate security across all markets in Lagos State.

Naija News recalls that the group had earlier rejected the declaration of Tinubu, as president-elect.

The Ndigbo group had called on the United Nations and the international community to sanction the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other alleged corrupt Nigerian politicians that purportedly corroborate with the electoral umpire to “rig” the February 25 presidential election.
